“A check that you mail to a charity is considered delivered on the date you mail it”, according to IRS Publication 526, Charitable Contributions. So if you’d like to make a contribution that will affect your 2010 taxes, you need to do it this week!

One organization you should consider is the Sun City Vistoso Community Foundation. Their mission is “to improve the quality of life for Sun City Vistoso residents”. As you may remember, the Foundation approved our Society’s project, already accomplished, of purchasing new computers, at a cost of over $6,000. Their approval means you may designate some or all of your tax-deductible contribution for this project.

To donate, please:

• Make your check payable to SCV Community Foundation;
• Designate the Genealogy Society on your check for the approved new computers project;
• “Pay It Forward” with an extra gift to the Foundation;
• Mail your check to: Sun City Vistoso Community Foundation, 1565 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd., Oro Valley, Arizona 85755.
