Our January General Meeting is this Tuesday the 11th at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room in the Social Hall.
This month we are especially fortunate in again having David Fryxell as our guest speaker. David was a founding editor of Family Tree Magazine and now edits and publishes Desert Exposure, “The Biggest Little Paper in the Southwest.” Last year David led us on a brisk tour of migration patterns across the U.S. and their implications for genealogical research. This year he will tell us about the U.S. Census. You’re sure to learn something you didn’t know, or some technique you never thought of, when David’s giving the talk.
During the business part of the meeting, Cleo will be collecting dues for 2011 ($15 for one or $25 for a household). She is also accepting reservations for our Annual Banquet on Saturday February 5th at the Cafe. Reservations are $20 per person; guests are welcome. The entrée choices are baked salmon or Yankee pot roast. Please specify your choice when reserving. Our after-dinner speaker is Jack Lasseter, who’ll take us on “A Travelogue of Arizona.”
There is no general meeting in February, so this is our last before the banquet.
