Ancestry.com is celebrating its 15th anniversary by providing free access to one of their collections each day for 15 days. This started yesterday, October 1st, and will continue through the 15th. Please visit the Anniversary page for more information.
Ancestry also has a Facebook page. This has links to short videos explaining how to use the free databases. The first two databases are the U.S. Social Security Death Index and the Ireland Index to Griffith’s Valuation. These are available free elsewhere besides Ancestry, but you might find the videos helpful anyway. (The SSDI is available for example at FamilySearch, and Griffith’s Valuation at AskAboutIreland.)
Thanks to Karen Haider for letting us know about Ancestry’s celebration.
