Irish SIG: Patrick O’Hare from County Clare

The Irish Special Interest Group meets next Tuesday the 21st at 1 PM in the Navajo Room, Social Hall. We will continue butting our brick walls by investigating the case of Margie O’Hare’s great-grandfather Patrick. By 1870, Patrick with his wife and three U.S-born kids had settled in the bustling lumber town of Bay City, Michigan, as evident from the U.S. Census of that year:

But it had been a long journey to get there. He started in Co. Clare, Ireland, and came some 3500 miles via New York to Michigan. Can we find him at any of his stops along the way? Does the Clare County Library Genealogy page provide any help? Come join us as we try to trace our immigrant ancestors. All SCVGS members are welcome.
