The Green Valley Genealogical Society meets Thursday October 18, from 1 PM to 3 PM at the St. Francis in the Valley Episcopal Church, 600 S. La Cañada Dr., Green Valley.
Main Program: Margaret Rennaker will present “What You Can Find at the Courthouse.” She will to cover deeds, wills, births, marriages, and other records that you can find in the Courthouse. Margaret has been searching for her ancestors since 1948 when her second cousin introduced her to genealogy. But her cousin forgot to instruct Margaret to proof her findings. Margaret has since visited courthouses in TX, WV, OH, IN, and MO to proof her records. The records maybe old and dusty, but they have interesting stories to convey.
Short Program: “The Feng Shui Approach of Organizing Your Family Research” by Jill Bailey. Jill has worked on her genealogy for the past 7 years and has tried several methods to organize her research. We are fortunate that Jill is willing to share her comedic experiences so we may follow a more “organized” path.
Our programs are free and open to all interested in searching for their ancestors. Refreshments are served. Exciting genealogy items are featured as Door Prizes, Silent Auctions, and Raffles at our meetings. Open to all; refreshments will be served.
