Two online systems are offering free access to their military records this coming Memorial Day weekend:

• FindMyPast.com has “26 million U.S. and International military records,” and offers free searching from this Friday the 24th through Monday the 27th;
• FamilyLink.com also has free military record searching, dates not specified.

Ancestry.com and Fold3, available at the club rooms, have excellent military collections, as does FamilySearch. But no database is perfect, so it’s a good idea to check these others too, especially when you don’t have to pay for them. You might get lucky.
