This Saturday, I will be going to the Tucson Family History Fair. It is in Tucson on Kenyon Street (?). The event is free, you do have to provide your own lunch. The Fair runs from 8:30AM until 4PM. There are 35 classes (7 at a time) that are 1 hour long each. There is a 15 minute break between classes, and there is one-on-one help during these times.
There are classes for beginners, several classes on FamilySearch, a few on Ancestry (including Ancestry DNA) a few DNA classes and some specialty classes. The specialty classes include Swedish Research, Finnish Research, Native American Research, Jewish Research, African American Research, British and Welsh Research, Irish Research, and Research in Spanish speaking countries.
I have room for 3 other people in my car, so please contact me (825-6919 or ahoust2@lsu.edu) if you want to carpool. Registration is from 7:45-8:30, so I was going to try to leave between 7:15 and 7:30 as I think it is about a 45 minute drive.
This means that the Genealogy Lab will NOT be open this Saturday unless another person wants to be a monitor.
