While using FamilySearch, Darwin found some genealogy records for which there were images, but those images were not available on his home computer. He got a message saying he had to use a computer at a Family History Center.
This appears to be a case of progress making things seem worse. FamilySearch is now indexing some records which it does not have full ownership of. Their agreement with the owner restricts the display of images. A fuller explanation in available in this July 2017 blog post at Genealogy Reporter.
Our club computers do not have any special privileges at FamilySearch so using them will not help. If you’re looking for a Family History Center, the directory is here.
